Metro police officer hurt in collision
A Metro transit police officer was injured Friday evening when the officer’s car collided with another vehicle in Northeast Washington, the transit agency said.
The officer was taking a juvenile suspect to Childrens Hospital when the collision occurred about 5:30 p.m. at 10th and Franklin streets, a Metro spokesman said. Both the officer and the youth were taken to hospitals after the collision; neither had a life-threatening injury, the spokesman said. It was not clear if the collision injured the youth.
