Power restored in NW D.C.
Updated, 12:34 p.m.:
Power has been restored to nearly all customers in NW D.C. Pepco's power outage map is showing only a handful of outages in the city.
Original post:
Hundreds of homes and businesses in and near the Logan Circle area of Northwest Washington lost electric power Saturday night as a result of a cable fault, a Pepco spokesman said.
Power went out about 8:15 a.m. to about 2,200 customers in an area bounded by 8th and 14th streets and L and U streets, said spokesman Andre Francis.
He said that by late Saturday night, the figure had been cut to about 200. The utility hoped to restore all power by about 1 or 1:30 a.m., he said.
