Off-duty Capitol police officer fires gun
An off-duty U.S. Capitol police officer fired his gun Friday night in Southeast Washington after reportedly being assaulted, authorities said.
The incident occurred about 10:40 p.m. at 13th and T streets SE, in the Anacostia area.
The officer fired at a car that reportedly figured in an assault on the officer, D.C. police said.
It was not clear if the car was hit or if any of its occupants was injured.
D.C. police said the incident was under investigation.
