Orange signaling a return to D.C. Council?

By Washington Post editors

Former D.C. council member Vincent Orange (Ward 5) resigned Tuesday from his job as a vice president at Pepco, signaling that he is preparing to run for council chairman in the Democratic primary in September, D.C. Wire reports.

"There was a great celebration at Pepco today as Vince goes on to pursue other options as we try to analyze the next steps," said Sean Metcalf, a close friend and associate.

Metcalf stopped short of confirming that Orange will jump into the race, which would pit him against Council member Kwame R. Brown (D-At Large).
