Pa. man arrested for using hatchet on Beltway
Maryland state police arrested a Pennsylvania man Tuesday for hitting a dump truck with a hatchet during an apparent road rage case on the Capital Beltway, authorities said.
Police said the 26-year-old driver of a Cadillac was involved in a minor crash on the inner loop of the Beltway near Georgia Avenue about 3 p.m. The man got out of his car and struck a dump truck behind him with a hatchet.
Troopers later stopped the Cadillac on the Beltway near New Hampshire Avenue and found the hatchet inside the car. He was being held by police Tuesday night. It was not immediately clear what charges were filed.
