Man killed near bus stop in Gaithersburg

Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 23-year-old man late Saturday near a bus stop in Gaithersburg.
Shortly after 10:45 p.m., police arrived at the Lake Forest Transit Center to find the man suffering from at least one suspected gunshot wound to his body, according to a release from Montgomery County police. The transit center is located on Lost Knife Road near the intersection of Odenhal Avenue.
Fire and rescue officials transported the victim to Shady Grove Adventist Hospital, where he died, according to police.
Preliminary investigation has found that a man approached the victim at the transit center. The two appeared to have had a brief verbal exchange before the man shot the victim at least once and fled the scene on foot, according to police.

It used to be that Gaithersburg was a nice quiet suburban city that you could leave your doors open.... it is a place that I grew up but dont know if I could raise my son there. I am in rockville now (with a smal stint in Frederick)... I am seriously thinking of going back out to the country... Rockville is slowly being over ran as well.

I remember when 355 was a 2-lane road north of the fairgrounds & Lake Forest Mall wasn't even bullt.
I also remember when Montgomery Village & Gaithersburg were nice places to live/work/visit.
