Police find missing autistic boy
An autistic 9-year-old boy has been found more than 12 hours after he wandered away from his mother and sister in a state park in Cecil County.
Maryland Natural Resources Police say Noah Notter of Dundalk was found around 6 a.m. Sunday across the Pennsylvania line, about 3/4 of a mile from where he was reported missing. He wandered away from his family around 4:30 p.m. in the Fair Hill Natural Resources Management Area.
The boy has severe autism and is unable to speak. Search teams used blue chemical glow sticks while looking for him because he's fond of blue lights and is known to run away from strangers.
He was taken to a local hospital at a precaution but was in good condition.
Twenty-five people participated in the overnight search, scouring more than 500 acres.
