Police: Officers shoot gunman in Baltimore
Authorities say police shot one man and arrested another after the two men carrying guns confronted officers in southwest Baltimore.
Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi says the two officers were summoned about 2:30 a.m. Sunday to investigate a report of a suspicious person.
Standing next to a parked car they found two men, one of them armed with handgun. That man fled with one officer in pursuit. Guglielmi said the other man pulled a .22-caliber carbine with a banana clip and refused an order to drop it.
Guglielmi said the second officer fired multiple times. He said the suspect has been hospitalized and is not expected to survive. The other man was arrested nearby.
Authorities have not released the names of the officers or suspects.
