A Prince George’s County police officer was injured in the Bladensburg area Friday night when he was struck by a car during an investigation. The officer was hit about 8:45 p.m. at 52nd Avenue and Lawrence Street, county police said. They said he was investigating a suspicious vehicle.

While he was in the roadway struggling with an occupant of the suspicious vehicle, police said, the officer was struck by another vehicle that was passing by.

He was taken to a hospital with leg and back pain, police said.
