Prince George's to delay cameras near schools
Prince George's County has decided that it will not set up fixed speed cameras near schools this year.
The Gazette reports that County Executive Jack B. Johnson (D) decided not to move forward with putting up to 100 cameras in school zones over the next two years because they would be an extra tax on drivers and also be very unpopular.
But drivers should know that county police will be out in vans equipped with cameras near school zones where speeding is a concern.
