Rembrandt found in D.C. bathroom goes on view
What do you keep in your cabinets? An original Rembrandt etching found in a bathroom cabinet at Catholic University is now on display at the school.
The Associated Press writes that: The Rev. David O'Connell found the print when he was searching for paper towels shortly after he became president of the Catholic University of America in 1998.

We're missing essential details about this "discovery". Is it a lifetime impression? If so, it's a very interesting find. If not, Rembrandt reprints from the original plates are plentiful, as are images from reworked plates by Durand and others. This may be the proverbial much ado about not much.

It is amazing what is found. Don't be so quick to toss grandmothers stuff when the time comes.
