Panhandler cut near Foggy Bottom Metro
Metro escalators at Foggy Bottom have reopened after a person was cut following an altercation near the station.
An "aggressive panhandler" at 2301 I St. NW, near one of the Foggy Bottom entrances, was grabbing at passersby, said D.C. police spokeswoman Tisha Gant. The passerby took exception to the grabbing and used a pocketknife to slightly cut the hand of the panhandler. The passerby then vanished into the crowd, Gant said.
The panhandler was escorted to GW Hospital to be examined.
