School bus driver faces porn charges

By Washington Post editors

A 27-year-old Prince George's man, who worked as a bus driver for the Prince George's County school system has been arrested for allegedly producing child pornography, authorities said Monday.

Scott Smallwood of Upper Marlboro, who was scheduled to appear in federal court Monday, was arrested the evening of May 21, authorities said.

According to court documents, a customer at a 7-11 convenience store on Coventry Way in Clinton found a memory card on the check-out counter and took it home. The customer later viewed the card and found 10 to 15 videos of an adult male engaging in sexually explicit conduct with a young boy.

According to court documents, the customer contacted the Prince George’s County Police Department and informed them of the videos and turned the card over to the police. That same day, Prince George’s County police recovered the store surveillance tape for the time period when the memory card was discovered. Law enforcement viewed additional videos on the card, allegedly documenting similar sexual abuse of the young boy.

Agents with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement worked with Prince George's County police conducted a forensic analysis of the memory card and were able to identify the minor in the videos. ICE agents also were able to identify the man in the videos as Smallwood.

On May 21, 2010, Smallwood was arrested by ICE agents at the Brandywine bus depot. At the time, Smallwood was employed as a Prince George’s County school bus driver, including for the elementary schools, authorities said.

"Smallwood" is not a very good name for the porn industry.

So stupid. This creep took a memory card into a 7-11. Why?

This person if these allegations are true should be placed in prison for a very long time where he can be in someones video porn behind bars, hopefully getting done to him what he did to others. Very sad story.

Why is ICE involved in a local child abuse case?

Maybe WaPo could actually explain if there are immigration issues in play here? Is that too much to ask?

You know this is really sad because I went to the school last year and reported this creep for offering the kids candy and saying things he should not be saying to these kids (all boys) and to my surprise one school official came to his defense????
This has to stop! L mean seriously, they removed him from the bus route and put him on another, And his sick behavior continued.
