Snow closings around the D.C. region

The threat of snow has several schools systems in Virginia and Maryland closing early.

Update, 1:25 p.m.: Fairfax County School officials have announced that all public school activities in schools or on school grounds for Tuesday afternoon and evening have been canceled.

Original post: In Virginia, Stafford County schools will close two hours early. Fauquier middle and high schools will close at 11:30 a.m. The elementary school will close at 12:30 p.m. The Prince William County school system has canceled all after-school and evening activities, including night school GED and adult education classes. The schools will continue to operate on a normal schedule for the rest of the day. 

In Maryland, Howard County schools will close one hour early. Schools in Anne Arundel, Prince George's, Calvert  and St. Mary's counties will close two hours early. Prince George's and Calvert have also canceled all school-sponsored after-school and evening activities.

Arlington county and the surrounding jurisdictions are expecting another 3-6 inches of SALT? Not more salt....
