Teen escapee found in Gaithersburg
A 17-year-old escapee from the Green Ridge Youth Center was arrested Wednesday by members of the Maryland State Police Special Apprehension Team at his girlfriend’s residence in Gaithersburg, the Cumberland Times reports.
The youth was taken into custody without incident after state police developed leads that he was at the residence, which is a few blocks from his parents’ home, police said.
He reportedly fled the facility Sunday in a Toyota Corolla that he allegedly stole from a residence near the youth center.
Police said Wednesday that the vehicle has not been recovered. The Montgomery County Police Auto Theft Unit is assisting state police.
