Board says DC9 will remain closed
The D.C. Alcoholic Beverage Regulation Administration has denied a motion to reopen DC9, TBD.com reports.
The club was closed after Ali Ahmed Mohammed died outside the club last month after he allegedly threw a brick through the window.
Five employees of the club were initially charged with beating the Mohammed to death, but prosecutors dropped charges two weeks ago against the men saying evidence did not support the case.

"It's extremely unlikely that this death resulted from any action on the part of employees of DC9," Kline said, at one point later reading directly from the dismissal filing, which states that after having "interviewed many witnesses, reviewed autopsy photographs and photographs of the scene, examined physical evidence, initiated multiple forensic analyses, and ... utilized other investigative tools to gather evidence ... there is an insufficient basis to sustain the charge of aggravated assault to Mr. Mohammed."

the Washington Post deserves much of the credit for the misdirected outrage surrounding Ali Mohammed's death due to their completely irresponsible initial coverage of the the incident. Despite the charges being dropped for lack of evidence pointing to even aggravated assault, much less murder, the Post's sensationalism has had the effect of prejudicing the Ethiopian community and further complicating matters by essentially trying and convicting 5 people in the court of public opinion on the front page of the paper with misleading photo and not a single use of the word "alleged." Nice going.

Good, and I hope they file the suit against the owner and those involved in the killing of this young man.
