Tourists end up at breakfast with Obamas
The Associated Press is reporting that a Hogansville, Ga., couple ended up at an invite-only breakfast with President Obama and Michelle Obama after they showed up a day early for a tour scheduled through their congressman.
This happened on Veterans Day, before the state dinner. Harvey and Paula Darden thought they were starting their tour, but instead were brought into the East Room and offered a buffet. When they told a White House aide they weren't sure if they were in the right place, they were told to "just go with the flow," Darden told the AP.
The White House and Secret Service said the couple went through the appropriate screenings and, the AP reports, "were allowed into the breakfast as a courtesy because there were no public tours the day they arrived."
"I felt kind of funny because I was the only man in the room that wasn't dressed in a coat and tie," Darden told the AP. "I was just a plain tourist."

You know, there's a world of difference between "crashing a party" and "being invited in as a goodwill gesture."
I'm sure there's a newsworthy story here. Just not a look-at-yet-another-white-house-foulup story.
