Children in D.C. bus accident
This post was updated at 9:41 a.m.
A minor collision between a car and Metro bus carrying mostly teenage passengers tied up traffic Tuesday morning on I-395 southbound in D.C.
About 20 people, including two adult passengers of the car, were transported to a nearby hospital after the accident near Maine Avenue about 7:38 a.m., Pete Piringer, a spokesman for D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services, said. No one was seriously hurt.
The vehicles “basically just bumped into each other,” Piringer said.
Several lanes of I-395 southbound were closed during the incident.
