FEMA to reimburse Metro for snow costs
Metro says the Federal Emergency Management Agency will reimburse it $1.76 million to cover snow removal costs from the February storms.
FEMA has already given Metro $1 million for the December snowstorm.
Metro says the storms $12.7 million for snow removal and millions more in lost revenue. Related expenses include overtime, contractors and supplies such as salt, deicer and fuel for snow removal equipment.
Metro worked with Washington on behalf of all three Metro jurisdictions to submit snow removal expenses to FEMA.
