One killed in College Park collision
One person was killed and at least three others were injured early Thursday in a two-vehicle collision on Cherry Hill Road in College Park, Prince George's County Police said.
The two vehicles collided head-on in the 9400 block of Cherry Hill Road just after 1:30 a.m., police said. The three injured people were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of injuries that police described as serious.
Cherry Hill Road was closed between Sellman Road and the accident site, just inside the Capital Beltway, so police could investigate. Officials said they hoped to reopen the road in time to serve the bulk of morning commuters.
