Southwest Airlines is marking its 39th anniversary with a sale of one-way fares as low as $39 before taxes, the company said on its Web site.

The three-day promotion is good for flights between Sept. 8 and Nov. 17. Travelers can pay $39 for flights up to 450 miles, $79 for flights between 451 and 1000 miles, and $119 for flights more than 1001 miles, the company said.

The offer expires 11:59 p.m. Thursday.
