Alexandria's annual festival canceled
The annual Alexandria Red Cross Waterfront Festival is no more.
The American Red Cross says that after 28 years they've made a business decision to no longer be the organizer of the festival so that "funds and people power devoted to the event can be directed toward service to our community."
Dana Brunson of the Alexandria chapter of the Red Cross told the Alexandria Times that the event has not been a successful fundraiser in recent years.
