Body found in trash can outside shopping center
The discovery of a woman’s body in a trash can at a Prince William County shopping center on Thursday morning has led to homicide charges against a New Jersey man who allegedly dumped her body there.
A citizen reported finding the body about 8 a.m. in a trash can along the Prince William County Parkway, near the intersection with Interstate 95. The body matched a missing person’s report from Perth Amboy, N.J., where police believe the woman was struck and killed on Tuesday.
About two hours before the body was discovered, authorities said, police arrested Franklin Camacho Jr., 40, of Perth Amboy, along the New Jersey Turnpike after learning he had traveled to Virginia. Middlesex County, N.J. prosecutors later charged him with murder after Prince William police reported finding the victim, who authorities have not yet identified while they try to notify next of kin.
Perth Amboy is about 225 miles north of Woodbridge along Interstate 95, not far from New York City.
