Death of student from Va. investigated
Ames, Iowa police are investigating the death of a 19-year-old Iowa State University student from Woodbridge who was struck by a train in April.
Raven Gileau was found around 5:30 a.m. on April 25 near railroad tracks in Ames.
Her death certificate states she died of multiple blunt force injuries after being struck by a train.
Ames police Cmdr. Mike Brennan says authorities are awaiting toxicology reports for the architecture student.
Authorities say she was separated from friends and decided to leave a bar. She started walking home on the rainy evening with an unidentified male friend. Brennan has said the friend left Gileau near the tracks to retrieve his car. When he returned, she was gone.
