Fairfax teacher charged with cruelty to kids

By Washington Post editors

A Fairfax County elementary school teacher has been arrested and charged with one count of misdemeanor simple assault and two counts of felony cruelty to children.

Fairfax County police say Jennah Christine Billeter, a special education teacher at Deer Park Elementary School in Centreville, physically assaulted and mistreated two boys, ages 4 and 5, who were assigned to her class. Police say the incidents occurred during the school day between May and July. The boys did not require medical treatment.

Billeter turned herself into the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center on Sunday.
