The wife of U.S. Sen. Richard Lugar (R-Ind.) has pleaded guilty to drunken driving, and a Northern Virginia judge has placed severe restrictions on her driver's license for the next year.
Charlene Lugar, 77, was charged with driving while intoxicated in November after hitting an unattended parked car in her McLean neighborhood in Fairfax County. Police spotted Lugar about two miles away from that parked car, still behind the wheel while smoke rose from the hood of her Buick.
Court records indicate her blood-alcohol level was measured at 0.11, above the legal limit of 0.08.
The judge suspended a 30-day jail sentence, but for the next year she is only allowed to drive to volunteer work and alcohol safety classes, and only during daytime hours.

People make stupid mistakes. So what? Now had this been the wife of a Congress man who has been trying to promote prohibition to come back or one who has been very vocal against alocohol consumption, this might be interesting, but until then, bor-ing.
