More murder charges for Va. stab suspect
FLINT, Mich. — Officials in Flint have filed 2 additional murder charges against a man who’s already accused of murder and attempted murder in a series of stabbings that panicked the area last summer.
Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton announced the additional charges against Elias Abuelazam Thursday.
He’s charged in the deaths of Darwin Marshall in Flint on July 26 and Frank Kellybrew on July 30 in Flint Township.
If convicted, he faces life in prison with no parole.
Five men were killed this year in and around Flint, 70 miles north of Detroit. Authorities suspect Abuelazam in a string of attacks in Michigan, Ohio and Virginia.
Similar attacks against three men occurred in Leesburg on Aug. 3, 5 and 6.
He’s locked up on one murder charge and five counts of attempted murder in Genesee County.
He’s also charged with attempted murder in Toledo, Ohio.
