About 6,500 customers temporarily lost power in Northern Virginia Wednesday morning after a private contractor hit a power cable, a spokeswoman for Dominion Virginia Power said.
The outage affected areas ranging from Ballston to Bluemont Park, according to Arlington Alert. Traffic outages were reported in the Ballston area.
By about noon, all but 900 customers had had power restored.
