Rep. race in VA gets another entry
A third Republican has entered the race to win his party’s nomination for the 11th Congressional District, representing Fairfax and Prince William counties.
Kurt P. Riesenberg, the president and executive director of the national Spray Polyurethane Foam Alliance in Fairfax, announced his candidacy this week. He faces Oakton businessman Keith S. Fimian and Fairfax County Supervisor Pat S. Herrity (R-Springfield) in the June 8 primary.
Riesenberg, 36, of Woodbridge, has not run for elected office before. Fimian lost to U.S. Rep. Gerald E. Connolly (D-Fairfax) in 2008. Herrity was elected to his first term as supervisor in 2007. Connolly is running for a second term.
