After snow, longer days for Alexandria students
Beginning Monday, Arlington County Alexandria City public school students will spend an additional 30 minutes a day in class -- 10 minutes in the morning and 20 minutes in the afternoon -- to make up for time lost during February's snowstorms.
The school system canceled classes 10 days in December and February because of snow and delayed school openings by two hours on two occasions.
