Va. heat-related deaths now at six
Virginia state officials on Friday confirmed the state's sixth heat-related death.
The victim was an adult in the central region of the state who died at the end of June. Five people have died in the central region, which includes Richmond, and one person died in the state's western region.
Officials in Maryland said Friday that three more people have died from heat-related causes there, bringing the total of such deaths this year to 16.
The District has reported one heat-related death.
