Recycling of electronics helped Virginia's recycling rate inch up in 2009, The Daily Press reports.
A report from the state's Department of Environmental Quality shows that Virginia recycled 38.6 percent of its municipal and other solid wastes last year, up from 38.5 percent in 2008.
Electronics such as computers and cellular phones grew 69 percent, but paper recycling declined by 17 percent.
