Virginia doctor charged with obtaining steroids
A Virginia chiropractor with ties to the Washington Capitals and the Washington Nationals was arrested Tuesday morning on charges of distributing and charged with obtaining steroids, Capitals Insider reports.
Dr. Douglas Owen Nagel, 50, of Reston, is charged with one count of conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance and seven counts of solicitation to deliver a controlled substance, according to the Polk County Sheriff's Office in Florida. was charged with obtaining steroids and other illegal performance-enhancing drugs from an alleged steroids dealer in Lakeland, Fla.
Nagel is listed a chiropractic consultant to both the Capitals and the Nationals on a list of doctors speaking at a January 2009 event called the Annual Baseball Team Medicine Conference. Investigators have found no evidence or proof that Nagel has distributed steroids to any professional athletes
