Virginia doctor charged with obtaining steroids
A Virginia chiropractor with ties to the Washington Capitals and the Washington Nationals was arrested Tuesday morning
on charges of distributing and charged with obtaining steroids , Capitals Insider reports.
Dr. Douglas Owen Nagel, 50, of Reston,
is charged with one count of conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance and seven counts of solicitation to deliver a controlled substance, according to the Polk County Sheriff's Office in Florida. was charged with obtaining steroids and other illegal performance-enhancing drugs from an alleged steroids dealer in Lakeland, Fla.
Nagel is listed a chiropractic consultant to both the Capitals and the Nationals on a list of doctors speaking at a January 2009 event called the Annual Baseball Team Medicine Conference. Investigators have found no evidence or proof that Nagel has distributed steroids to any professional athletes
