By Washington Post editors

A Chesapeake man was bitten by his pet Capuchin monkey after he accidentally stepped on its tail, NBC 4 reports.

Capuchin monkeys are sometimes kept as exotic pets. (Yerkes Primate Center)

The man told police the monkey took a bite out his hand before he was able to get him back his cage.

Animal Control is investigating.
