Water main break floods NE D.C.

UPDATE: D.C. Fire and EMS officials said there will likely be traffic jams around West Virginia Avenue and Florida Avenue, NE due to repairs being made on two broken water mains -- one at 16th Street NE between Oates Street and Levi Street NE and the other at West Virginia Avenue and Florida Avenue NE.

About 100 homes and businesses are affected.

Crews from the D.C. Water and Sewer Authority are working to repair an eight-inch water main break at 16th Street, NE, between Oates and Levi streets, WJLA reports.

WASA officials estimate that repairs will be completed at around 4:30 this afternoon.
