A small earthquake made itself felt Saturday afternoon near Interstate 95, south of Washington in east central Virginia, authorities said.
The quake apparently occurred about 4:15 p.m. north of Richmond.
No injuries or damage were reported.
The U.S. Geological Survey classed it as a magnitude 3 quake, which is weak.
Initial reports said its center appeared to be about five miles west of Interstate 95, and about 80 miles southwest of the District.
