Winter weather and wind advisories
The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory early Tuesday for the District and portions of southern Maryland, including Montgomery and Prince George's counties. It is in effect until 9 a.m.
Up to an inch of snow accumulation is possible, with temperatures expected in the upper teens to lower 20s.
A wind advisory is also in effect for much of the Metro region, including the District and much of southern Maryland, including Montgomery and Prince George's counties, and Northern Virginia, including Fairfax, Loudoun and Prince William counties.
Winds of 20 to 30 mph are expected, and gusts of up to 45 to 50 mph are possible, according to the weather service.
