William & Mary building new stadium
The College of William & Mary is building a new lacrosse and soccer stadium that is expected to be completed next spring.
It will be named the Martin Family Stadium at Albert-Daly Field in honor of California donors Eff and Patty Martin and their three children.
The couple's daughter Julia is a 2009 William & Mary graduate and former lacrosse player. She is currently employed in the school's athletic department.
School officials on Friday declined to disclose the amount of the gift, except to say it would fully fund the first phase of the stadium's construction.
The stadium will be home to the Tribe's women's lacrosse team and men's and women's soccer programs.
