Woman critically injured in Springfield fire

By Clarence Williams

A woman was critically injured Saturday during a house fire in the Springfield area of Fairfax County, a fire department spokesman said.

Three firefighters were released from a hospital after treatment of injuries suffering in the blaze in the 6800 block of Clowser Court, said fire department Capt. Robert Konczal.

He said authorities believe the fire started in the kitchen and was accidental. The woman who was injured by smoke inhalation was taken to the Washington Hospital Center by helicopter, Konczal said. He said she was in critical but stable condition Saturday evening.
