Don Peebles still not giving up the ghost

Over at WCP's Housing Complex this morning, Lydia DePillis correctly notes that despite accepting a speaking engagement at an upcoming D.C. Chamber of Commerce luncheon, erstwhile maybe-mayoral candidate Don Peebles hasn't been heard from in a month, leading most local politics watchers to ... pretty much forget about him. This guy can't still be thinking about running for mayor this late in the game, can he?
Apparently, he can. A Peebles spokesperson got in touch with DePillis to let her know that Peebles "is still giving [running for mayor] serious consideration." Where have we heard that one before?
Peebles's willingness to dip his toes into local politics late last year was an intriguing development, but at this point, it's become clear that success in the real estate world does not equal political savvy.
