Social safeway reopens with bizarre fete

Last night, the Georgetown Safeway -- a.k.a. the Social Safeway, despite the fact that the Glover Park Whole Foods has long since displaced it as the grocery-store-cum-pick-up spot for the 20007 Zip code -- celebrated its reopening with a truly bizarre fete hosted in the store itself. Cristal and Dom Perignon were served to fancily dressed bold-faced names in, remember, a supermarket.
I could try to describe it better, but pictures are worth a thousand words.
