An ANC race in Georgetown!

This November a small slice of Georgetown might finally have a decision to make for the Advisory Neighborhood Commission. With the current commissioner expected to step down, two residents have come forward to take his place in representing Single Member District 3. This might sound utterly prosaic, but it's worth noting that there hasn't been a competitive ANC election in Georgetown since 2004. Moreover, this SMD represents the heart of that part of west Georgetown where the Town-and-Gown battle lines have been drawn. Given that we're in the middle of the heated process over Georgetown University's newest 10-year plan, a competitive ANC election might actually get interesting.
