At long last, the football season is over, but not before two teams from Ashburn added another chapter to their recent dominance of the Virginia high school football landscape.

Stone Bridge found little running room against a stout Massaponax defense, but cashed in through the air and took advantage of five fumbles to seal a 23-20 victory in Sunday's AAA Division 5 state semifinal, sending the Bulldogs back to the state final for the first time since their 2007 title.
Led by another strong performance from senior tailback T.J. Peeler, No. 2 Broad Run (13-0) scored 20 unanswered points to knock off Powhatan 20-7 on a sloppy field in Saturday's AA Division 4 state semifinal.
The AAA Div. 5 final between Massaponax and Stone Bridge has been moved to 2 p.m. Sunday due to weather and transportation concerns. The game will still be played at Stone Bridge High School in Ashburn.
Stone Bridge senior tailback Marcus Harris is the runner-up for Northern Region offensive player of the year while defensive back Spenser Rositano lands on the first team defense. The Bulldogs had two players on the second team defense and three honorable mention selections.
