Record Crowd at the Horseshoe?

Ohio State Coach Jim Tressel said during his weekly press conference on Tuesday that there could be a record crowd at Saturday's game. (The Ohio Stadium record is 105,711, set on Oct. 25, 2008, against Penn State.)

"It's going to be a neat atmosphere," Tressel told reporters. Ohio State Athletic Director "Gene Smith just told me this morning that there's been as much or more interest in Navy tickets as any game on our schedule."

Navy should be well represented in the Horseshoe, though it might be hard to tell because of the sheer size of the stadium. The Academy received an allotment of 5,000 tickets — about 5 percent of the stadium's capacity of 102,329 — and quickly sold them all.

Sports information director Scott Strasemeier, who's in his 19th year at Navy, called this "the toughest ticket since I've been here, based on the calls I've received. I think I've heard from every letter-winner from the past 19 years."

Dozens of former players are expected to attend, as well as 850 current Midshipmen.
