A Good Connecticut Morning

I'm typing to you from the wilds of Woodbury, Conn., where it's a brisk 64 degrees, and even cooler in this 19th-century farmhouse. I sense autumn is just around the corner 'round these parts. I plan to check back in later today, after a proper breakfast at a local diner and a thawing in the sun. Stay tuned.

Oh, you're right near my hometown! Kim, if I might suggest a quick drive up Route 47 to New Preston, there's a wonderful Mediterranean restaurant there -- Oliva. I would try to recommend something in particular, but I love all their entrees and pizzas and salads too much to pick just one!

If you have the chance though, their patio or porch is a great place to dine on a summer night.
