Coleman Injury Update
After missing the past six games with a high ankle sprain, rookie forward Marissa Coleman has participated fully in two consecutive practices -- including five on five drills -- with no ill effects of the injury. Coach Julie Plank said that "there's a chance" Coleman could play in Minnesota.
"She's been through the last two practices and hasn't had a problem," Plank said. "That said we'll have to talk to [athletic trainer] Navin [Hettiarachchi] and make sure he thinks she's ready before we will bring her back. We don't want to rush her, but we're hoping to have her back soon."

Man that is Great news! Obvoisly she adds another dimension with her shooting touch! The good thing is if she comes back and has a gr8 rest of the season I think that puts her back in running for rookie of the year. I know Marissa doesnt set personal goals and she is one of the most team-oriented people out there but it would be great if we could get Alana on first team Defense and First team All-WNBA (which will happen if they have an above 500 record and make it to the playoffs), Rookie of the year (Marissa), 6th Woman (No doubt) and possibly Most Improved in Crystal Langhorne and then Julie Plank with coach of the year. Although that will be tough with Minnesota and Indiana playing so well! But if she can get this team to ATLEAST a 2nd place finish in the Eastern Conference and beat the other two teams a couple of times she has to get Coach of the Year!
On another note although we have been dropping some games without Coleman we definetly have taken on and emboddied Plank's competitiveness...This team has not lost by double digits yet (Well I dont think so atleast) and are in each and every game. With Marissa back and Ajavon gaining invaluable trust I think it will open up the post cause defenses gotta stay honest and this team will be trouble! Marissa actually gives us a point forward on the court! I am sure she wants to get back at Angel for knocking them out of the NCAA tournament and I think she will get the upperhand when they play at the verizon center. She should be on a warpath to show she is the best rookie in the league and dewanna bonner cant handle her !
Bottom Line if they kept competitive without Marissa all she is going to do is making them twice as dangerous when she returns cause without them doubling down low it opens up lanes for lindsey, matee, alana,mo, and Marissa to drive and score or rive and dish!

My mistake the Mystics lost one game by doube digits (81-93 to Atlanta)! That team just feels like they have the mystics number and feel completely confident against them! BUT ha! I truly believe the roles will be reversed and the mystics will wear them out at verizon center barring anymore injuries! The only teams that I think pose a threat to us in the East are Indiana (because they are versatile like the Mystics) and Connecticut with their center back.
