Happy Homecoming for Former Terps

A few minutes after the Washington Mystics received word that they had clinched a playoff spot on Saturday night, rookie forward Marissa Coleman sent a tweet: "Playoff bound! Comcast center, here we come. Oh how I've missed thee..."

Washington opens its best-of-three, first-round playoff series against the Indiana Fever (22-11) on Thursday at 7 p.m. at the University of Maryland's Comcast Center in College Park because of a scheduling conflict at Verizon Center with the BBC production "Walking with Dinosaurs". But for the Mystics' two former Terrapins -- Coleman and Crystal Langhorne -- the relocation allows them a chance to head back to their old stomping grounds.

"I'm so excited to go back," Coleman said after the Mystics' practice Tuesday evening. "I had four really, really great years at Maryland. I think my teammates are sick of hearing of me talking about Maryland and how much I loved it. So, I'm just really excited that they all got to go there the other day and visit our arena. It will be a fun time."

Langhorne concurred. The top scorer and top rebounder in Maryland history can't imagine anything but having a strong performance in the arena that helped her launch her career.

"I'm super excited. I didn't think I'd ever be playing there again," Langhorne said. "It's going to be a little weird because I don't want to go in there and not play well. I finished college, but I don't want to go out there and play probably my last time there poorly. I really want to play well and get a win there."

If you are planning to head out to the game via Metro, the Mystics are providing complimentary shuttle service from the College Park station to Comcast Center. And be sure to check back in the next few days for a breakdown of the matchups between the Mystics and Fever.

Lang and Marissa aren't the only ones excited to see them playing again at Comcast. I expect them both to have a great game. The Dookies even have winning experience at Comcast (boo) so should feel comfortable.

Go Mystics!
