The Mystics announced today that guard Nikki Blue has been traded to the New York Liberty for rookie guard Ashley Houts.
From the team's news release:
A standout at the University of Georgia, Houts was selected by the New York Liberty in the second round (16th overall) of the 2010 WNBA Draft.
A four year WNBA veteran, Blue was selected in the second round (19th overall) of the 2006 WNBA draft by the Washington Mystics. Blue's WNBA career averages are 12.8 minutes per game, 3.0 points per game and 1.8 assists per game. Blue also has a 79.6 free throw percentage.
Editor's note:
Earlier today, it was erroneously reported on this blog that Shanavia Dowdell had been cut from the team. She was not cut.
