Jacinta Monroe to miss 6-8 weeks after hand surgery

Rookie forward Jacinta Monroe underwent surgery on Monday at Sibley Memorial Hospital to repair a fracture in her left hand.

From the Mystics' news release:

Monroe suffered the injury during the first half of the Mystics' 65-61 overtime victory against the Chicago Sky this past Saturday, June 19.
The procedure was performed by Dr. David Moss of Washington Orthopedics and Sports Medicine. She is expected to return to basketball activities in 6-8 weeks. ...
A 6-5 post player from Florida State University, Monroe has earned numerous accolades during her collegiate career. She was drafted in the first round (sixth overall) of the 2010 WNBA draft.
