Man, almost forgot about a little news item. It came to my attention -- and the attention of almost all the Nationals -- that Felipe Lopez's wife, Jenn (and yes, they hear about the Jennifer Lopez stuff all the time, and I'm not sure how hysterical they think it is particularly when she was involved with Ben Affleck and there was all that Bennifer stuff and I wonder if they were ever called Felennifer) posed for the men's magazine FHM (which I believe, but am not sure and really don't want to check out, is going out of business).
Anyway, Jenn Lopez appears in FHM with one picture, clad in a bikini, with a short interview about what it's like to be a baseball wife, basically.
So, Felipe, what's it like to have all the guys in the clubhouse basically ogling your wife? (Not exactly the way I phrased it to him, to be honest, but whatever.)
"She just had fun with it," he said. "I think it was a cool thing to see my wife in a magazine like that. It was just cool."
For the record, Felennifer met in Hagerstown, Md., her hometown, when he was coming up through the minors. So one good thing about his trade from Cincinnati last year to DC is that she's closer to home and can drive out and see her mom when the team goes on the road. The couple has been married almost seven years and has two girls, Chaydin, 6, and Jaysha, 2. What do the names mean, I asked? "I let my wife take care of that," he said. "She's the boss."
(I would provide a link to the FHM picture, but Steinberg still hasn't read my blog, realized I'm in desperate need of help and then provided said help. So you'll have to find it if it's out there. Good luck.)
